About Us
Shared Parenting Council of Australia

About Us
Many of the people who support the operations of The Shared Parenting Council of Australia are volunteers who donate their valuable time and resources to help us gather and distribute research, develop policy solutions and communicate those policies to the wider public, the Parliament and the media. The SPCA has been one of the leading groups involved in the largest reform program ever seen in respect to changes to the Family Law Act, the way the Family Court deals with separation and the setting up of the Family Relationship Centres throughout Australia. The SPCA has also been working on the Child support Agency legislation changes which are being progressively rolled out during 2006 through 2008.

The Council has many affiliated member organisations both from within Australia and overseas. The SPCA is a primary member of the "CRC" the US based Children's Rights Council.

Our Federal Executive is elected annually from the Federal Council of the Association and each member performs a range of tasks specified by the Executive. Membership to the Shared Parenting Council of Australia is open to individuals and organisations who share the Aims and Objectives of the Council.

The complete Constitution of the Shared Parenting Council of Australia is available through on-line request or on request from the Secretariat secretariat@spca.org.au.

The Council meets regularly by teleconference, and meetings of members are held in each State and Territory in which we operate.
